Director of MAT Coaching & Consulting, a Coaching, Consulting and Training Firm, Mariama is a professional coach, speaker and social entrepreneur. She is originally from Guinea Conakry, a beautiful country in West Africa where she spent her adolescent years. Very young, she observed that women and girls were disproportionately affected by poverty, discrimination, excision, violence, the lack of education and the deprivation of their rights. Motivated by a sentiment of injustice, she gave herself the mission to help build a better world for girls and women.

After completing her university studies in Montreal, her dream came to life and took shape. Her own story and experiences motivated her to create "Women of Impact Academy" in 2016, with the aim of encouraging women to believe in themselves, to develop their leadership and to exploit their full potential in order to become pioneers in all areas of society.

Mariama is recognized as an ambitious woman who highly involves herself in the causes dear to her heart. In 2019, she was selected among the winners of the Black History Month of RECOPAC, a communication network dedicated to preventing crime, whose mission is to bring together young leaders of all nationalities around societal issues that affect them.

In 2020, she was also selected among the 100 women to watch in Canada.

Mariama strongly believes in the importance of giving back to her community through her passion and the lessons learnt from her experiences. According to her, every woman carries light within her and most importantly, is endowed with immense potential. She believes that every woman has a voice, a power to effect change in society, whether they come from rural or urban backgrounds, regardless of their age or social condition, their culture and religion.

Her dream is to see a world free of poverty, inequality and violence against women and girls, a world where the next generation are able to take initiatives for economic and social development and bring about significant change in society.
